Atif Aslam is a Pakistani musician. He was born in Wazirabad, Gujranwala, Punjab, pakistan and educated in Lahore and Rawalpindi.
Working together, the pair recorded the song Aadat. It became popular on different musical websites in Pakistan. The song was also played on such Pakistani radio stations as FM100 and FM105. The music video for Aadat was shot one day in a warehouse in Karachi. Due to personal problems in the band, Atif Aslam left Jal and became solo.
Atif Aslam's soulful voice crossed the Pakistani border and reached India when Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt called Atif Aslam to seek his consent to put "Woh Lamhey" as a song in the soundrack of his new motion picture, Zeher. After that, Atif Aslam's music spread across to people and radio stations that play it all over the subcontinent now
Aslam was born into a Muslim family in Lahore, Pakistan. Aslam went to kindergarten at Kimberley Hall School, Lahore. His first stage performance was in a fancy dress show at his school where he performed as Imran Khan, the former captain of Pakistan national cricket team. In 1991, he moved to Rawalpindi where he continued his studies in St Paul's School.[disambiguation needed] Aslam came back to Lahore in 1995 where he continued his studies in DPS[disambiguation needed], Lahore. Aslam started his FSC in Fazaia Inter College, Lahore. Aslam has a Bachelor's degree from the Punjab Institute of Computer Science. Aslam was passionate about cricket. After leaving the Pakistani pop band Jal, Aslam, released his first solo album, Jal Pari, on 19 July 2004, under Sound Master and IC records. His work has gradually became popular in India. His second album, Doorie, was released on April 2007, Aslam headlined in the Flex FX Dhamaka alongside Jay Sean at Royal Albert Hall. His first international concert was at W. StarDreamz Entertainment Group during his tour of USA and Canada with RDB and Annie. He recently performed in London's O2 Arena on 22 April 2012 at the Flex FX Production's Dhamaka[6] Bollywood Concert with Naz Choudhury and his Bolly Flex team to promote love, peace & unity among India and Pakistan becoming the first Pakistani pop singer to perform on The O2 Arena stage.
Aslam also mentioned in a press conference held in Karachi that he will be working on an international project titled The Dreamer Awakes, alongside members of American rock band Guns N' Roses.[citation needed]
There were rumors circulating online that his new album was titled Shabnam. This was denied by Aslam. “Right now, my entire focus is on this project (The Dreamer Awakes). I may be singing with Chris Martin or John Mayer… we’re trying to bring a lot of people together.”He has been greatly influenced by singers Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Kishore Kumar and K.K.
Sarmad Ghafoor, a guitarist and producer for Qayaas contacted Aslam to collaborate with them for the fifth season of Coke Studio (Pakistan). Atif Aslam in collaboration with Qayaas, performed a revived rendition of "Charkha Nolakha" by Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The song and the episode received positive reviews from critics not only in Pakistan but also across the border in India.
Currently Atif Aslam is leading as the team captain of the reality singing show "Sur Kshestra" supporting Pakistan Team. The show is held in Dubai and being broadcasted from Dubai as well.
